FUNDING PARAMETERS

Grant making and sponsorships

Giving financial support to nonprofit organizations is the core purpose of a charitable foundation. There are so many worthy causes, and so many deserving organizations. We select our beneficiaries very carefully, reviewing program objectives, clients served, financial information and quantifiable outcomes. We encourage you to support them as well. From time to time in this portion of our website we will feature one or more of our beneficiaries by telling an expanded story about the work they do.

Grants funding and sponsorship process

The Harbor Point Charitable Foundation provides financial support in 2 major ways:

  1. An annual grant awards program
  2. Sponsorship of fundraising events produced by nonprofit organizations within our mission

Guidelines

The Foundation provides sponsorship support and grants only to nonprofit organizations that are exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation does not support individuals or for-profit organizations, fund capital improvements, religious activities, program advertising, political parties, offices or candidates.
Consideration is limited to organizations whose programs support our overall mission, which is to fund and facilitate the most promising organizations aimed at improving the quality of life for Bay Area adults and children in need.
Our focus is two-fold:

  1. To support innovative organizations dedicated to serving adults and children experiencing a health crisis, and
  2. To support educational, arts, athletic and nutritional programs demonstrating a commitment to our children’s future.

The Foundation also has a geographic focus, providing funds only for programs and services that benefit residents of the San Francisco Bay Area, with a special emphasis on Marin County.

The Foundation’s Board of Directors will only review requests that follow these funding guidelines.
